With the Box for Slack integration, you can use Box for all file interactions within Slack, where Box acts as the single content layer providing the one place where all files uploaded in Slack are stored, securely. By leveraging Box as the content layer for Slack, your organization can reduce content silos, keeping all governance, security and content workflows in Box.
Coming soon, the organization of the content ingested via Slack (and backed by Box), will be improved so that each Slack channel will have its own Box folder. Box will now provide a folder structure that mirrors your Slack workspace and channel structure. This keeps Slack channel members and Box folder collaborators in sync, so that everyone in a Slack channel can seamlessly access its Box content.

The activation of the Box for Slack Custom File Store feature requires admin level setup in Admin Console > Apps > Apps & Integrations section, as well as configuration on the Slack side (please contact Slack Support for help). We encourage sandbox environment rollout stage in order to review what changes Custom File Store feature brings.
