We released the ability for users to embed tags inline in a document - that is prepared to be sent for signature via Box Sign.
These tags are text entries added into the document. Each tag includes the type of field and the signing order of the person to whom the field is assigned. For example:
- [[t|1]] indicates that a text field needs to be inserted in this spot in the document and assigned to signer number 1
- [[s|2]] indicates a signature field to be inserted, and assigned to the second signer
These tags get converted automatically to fields during the doc prep stage of creating a signature request in Box Sign.
There are primarily two ways this can be used:
- Tags can be added directly into the document chosen for preparation by end users
- Tags can be added into a document and saved to a template by template creators. This template is then made available for others in the organization to use.
This enables companies to standardize documents and templates that are sent for e-signature, and scale their e-sign deployments better. This also makes document preparation faster and easier for senders.
