Box for Outlook brings your secure Box content repository directly into your Outlook interface, enabling you to store email attachments and messages directly into the Box folder of your choice. It also enables you to insert shared links to your Box files anywhere within the body of your email message, so you can share your Box content with anyone you wish while fully retaining any security policies that exist around the actual files.
You can:
- Select files from Box and, anywhere within the body of your email, send them as shared links.
- Save attachments directly from your email message into the Box folder of your choice.
- Save the body of your email message as an .eml file into the Box folder of your choice.
You do all of this without leaving the Outlook interface. Instead, direct links to your Box repository are embedded in the interface of your Outlook email messages. Use these links to save content to Box or send shared links out via Outlook. This makes it easier for you to share files with people beyond the four walls of your enterprise, but still maintain data privacy and security. Since you are sending a shared link in Box – not the actual file – you preserve any access restrictions around the file.
Finally, you do not need to use Outlook to store files. This increases security around your content and also makes it easier to find files you're seeking.
You must have Outlook 2013 or later to use the Box for Outlook integration.
