Shared Folder
AnsweredIs there a way to share a folder without folks having to create an account?

Hi Natalie,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
I understand that you would like to share a folder to others without having them create an account to access the content.
You can use shared links instead of sending a collaborations invite to allow folks to view and download content that you send them. People do not need to have a Box account to receive/view/download the content within the link.
To understand the difference between collaboration and shared links, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196073-Collaboration-Frequently-Asked-Questions

Hi Natalie,
With Box Shared link feature, you can create an 'open link' (a link with access type set to "People with the link") to send to those that do not have a Box account. With an open link, others will have view-only access to your folders and you can also enable the option to download the item that is shared. Take a look at this article on how to enable the 'Download' option for a shared link.
Since given view-only access to the item, those you sent the Shared link to won't be able to upload into the shared folder. If you need them to be able to upload into your Folder, you can either invite them to collaborate (which would require them to create an account if they do not have one yet) OR use other Box features such as 'File Request" which sort of like a shared link but for the purpose of collecting files instead of sharing them. I do want to mention that though Shared link is available to all types of account, File request feature is not and currently available only to paid Box subscriptions.
To learn more about the File request feature, please check out this article.
Hope this information helps! Let me know if there is anything else that I may assist you and I will help you.
Regards,
