I'm wondering if this is the same issue I am running into right now. My storage used is practically nothing but I am constantly getting the notification of "account storage limit reached".

    Hi there,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

Sorry for the issues you experienced with Box! We've cleared up the data storage in your account and things should now be working as expected.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks!

My account was left untouched for several years until lately I started using it.  I uploaded some files and noticed that the folder file count and total storage usage size were off (the count/size were actually less than the actual count/size).  After I reported the issue on this forum, it was corrected in a few days.

After I verified the issue was corrected, I left the account without any activities for a few days.  And today, when I signed in to my account, I discovered that the total storage usage number is off, and this time it's reporting more than what the actual storage usage is.

According to the box.com support troubleshooting description (which is last updated on 11/18/2020)

        https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043695334-Storage-Usage-Or-File-Count-In-My-Account-Is-Incorrect

It indicates that even after box.com ran their magic script to correct the problem, the problem may happen again (which I believe is what happened to me).

Not knowing my correct available cloud storage space makes it difficult for me to manage my data uploading.

What is concerning is that the above troubleshooting description is over 2 years old, which implies that the problem is of low priority on box.com's fix list.  Maybe it's just me that thinks incorrect storage usage reporting is a big deal...
