    Hi there,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

Are you using a certain Box desktop application when saving files to Box like Box Drive or Box Sync?

Are you also encountering any sort of error message when this happens?

Do you mind providing more information or even share a screenshot? This will help out other members of the community to figure this out with you.

    Best,

I am having the same issue, while saving documents from MS Word to the mounted Box drive:

    • MacOS 10.15.7
    • Box Drive 2.21.202
    • MS Word 16.49

As soon as I press Save (or ⌘-S), the document hangs as though it's performing a long operation; then the spinning mac beachball of death appears, and the computer becomes unresponsive until a hard-reboot. The temporary [MyFilename]_[LongHash] directory *IS* created, and it appears that the save is successful before the crash.

My CPU temperatures and usage become surprisingly LOW during this hang, so it suggests that the machine is waiting, and not performing some long-running operation.

[edit] This crash occurs whether I save directly to the Box drive or use the "Edit in Word" button from the web app to open the file.

Hi Jordan did you find a solution for this issue? I'm now having the same issue 10 months after you reported it, but I'm on MacOS 12.2.1. It is a shared Excel file that is the issue.
