Box sync not working with vpn activated.
AnsweredI use NordVPN. When NordVPN is activated (I tested all available protocols) nothing is working regarding Box. I have Box Drive on my MacBook Pro, Box app on iPad and iPhone. Files put into the finder (MBP) or Files app (iPad and iPhone) do not sync to box.com. Once I "pause" nordVPN, everything works just fine. When I "resume" NordVPN, trouble starts again.
I can browse through the folder structure but when I want to download a file, nothing works. Not even via the web application in Apple Safari.
Do I really need to pause my VPN every time I want to synchronise something from my devices to Box or vice versa??????? Or is there something I am missing?
This is not workable. Please elaborate urgently.

Hi Peter,
Welcome to Box Community and I’m here to help!
- Has it ever worked before?
- Did you try to use a different machine with the same VPN enabled? If yes, is the issue recurring?
- Try to uninstall and re-install Box Drive.
Hope it works!

Hi Rona,
1) Yes, it worked before.
2) I have a MacBook Pro, an iPad and a iPhone. All with the same VPN (NordVPN). And I used all different available protocols of NordVPN on all devices. The same occurs on all devices.
3) I have logged out of my account, I have uninstalled Box Drive and re-installed it before contacting support with the earlier post.

Let's continue with this discussion! I recently signed up with a new VPN provider (Surfshark this time) and I've been having no end of issues with my Box account's 'synched' files/folders. As soon as I save/add/move an entry I'm getting an error when updating. I've done the same as previous users with restarting, reinstalling and trying different protocols, including asking Surfshark for guidance. In the meantime I'm "pausing" VPN when using my Box account under MacOS Catalina between 5 and 30 minutes in order to properly and securely updating files in the so-called "synched" environment.
