Unable to set IMPROVED password after I signed-up using google account
CompletedHi,
I have the same issue as posted at: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/15109267429779-Unable-to-set-password-with-signup-from-google-account
That person was somehow able to open a ticket #2820589, but I do Not know how to open a ticket (I only see options to post to COMMUNITY).
ISSUE: I was invited to access a folder; My "All files" page has a blocker with the message "Strong Password Required". When I click on BLUE-UPDATE button, I am prompted for my OLD password (which does NOT exist as I used google-ID to signup).
Any help?
Or, No resolution until I signup for a paid-plan, before I can get help with accessing the folder?
FYI: I also successfully setup MFA (using TOTP), but no difference to my ISSUE noted above.

For the benefit of all the others who are having same issue (since we signed up to Box.com using Google-OAuth).
You'll get at least 3 emails from Support, but no real solution.
I doubt this post will last too long, so .. save a copy.
You can solve this yourself, as follows. Do _Not_ follow box.com official links.
- Log out of Box.com
- On sign-in page, click on FORGOT Password.
- Check your Gmail inbox for link to _CHANGE_ your box.com password.
(As of 2023-Q3 You'll definitely get such an email, even tho' you've Signed-Up via Google-OAuth). - Set a REALLY-STRONG password (Do NOT use Safari's dash-based simpler passwords)
- You'll be them prompted to login into Box.
Surprise! you'll be automatically logged in WITHOUT the password - using Google OAuth again! - All done! Go click on the folder you wanted to access!
If another company wants an EVEN stronger password .. rinse and repeat the above!!!
Good luck all!
