Client access for free accounts
AnsweredHello, until a few months ago I was using WebDAV to use box.com as duplicity backend.
Now WebDAV has been completely disabled, so I'm wondering which are the options for a free account?
I tried the box API but I cannot grant the custom app the proper privilegies as I miss the admin rights and hence access to the corresponding console, also FTPS seems to be disabled for free accounts as well...
Thanks,
Gio

Hi Gio,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
Our WebDAV server was discontinued on April 28, 2023. At this rate, we recommend that customers migrate to one of alternatives available within Box. Suitable alternatives may be Box Drive, Box.com web application, Box APIs, FTP/FTPs service, E-mail upload and others.
FTP is not available for free accounts however you can create your Developer Account for Box API.
Hope it helps!

Hi Rona, I tried to use the Box APIs but it looks like the free accounts miss the capability to properly grant the permissions to the custom app via the admin console (https://app.box.com/master/custom-apps). The admin console seems available only to paid accounts.
Unfortunately, the Box Drive is not available on my client and I suppose the Box.com web application is not reccomended for non-human clients.
