Box Drive cannot be updated
AnsweredI am using Box on Windows 10. When I look at the control panel, the Box version seems to be 2.29.112. However, the version of Box.msi located in C:\ProgramData\Box\Box\Installer is 2.34.84.
How did this discrepancy occur? I'm not sure, but I can't update or uninstall Box.
I want to uninstall it and then reinstall it, but what kind of resources should I prepare?

Hi there,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
To make sure your Box Drive is up to date. Kindly uninstall your Box Drive App:
- Quit Box Drive
- Uninstall the application in the Control Panel.
Before removing all traces of Box Drive from your machine, first ensure that all hidden folders are visible.
To view hidden files and folders in Windows:- In the Windows taskbar, open File Explorer.
- At the top of the File Explorer window, click View.
- In the View menubar, click Options and select Change folder and search options.
- At the top of tthe Folder Options window, click the View tab.
- In Advanced settings, check Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
- At the bottom of the window, click OK.
To remove all traces of the Box Drive application from your machine:
- Go to C:\ProgramData\Box and delete the Box subfolder.
- Open Registry Editor and delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Box\Box.
- Go to C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Box and delete the Box subfolder.
- Open Registry Editor and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Box\Box.
- If the machine has multiple user accounts, login using each user account and repeat steps 3 and 4.
Meanwhile, you can re-install your Box Drive here.
Hope it helps!

Thank you for your guidance
After completing the Explorer process and Registry process, I deleted the application from the control panel again.
However, as before,
”The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again,or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Box 2.29.112.msi' in the box below"
A message will appear, click OK
"The path C:\ProgramData\Box\Box\Instller\Box 2.29.112.msi cannot be found.Verify that you have access to this location and try again,or try to find the installation package..."
The following message appears and I cannot proceed further.
Please let me know what action I should take next. -
Did you figure this out? I'm in the same boat with Box 2.34.84.msi.
I've removed everything Box from the Windows 10 install that I can find and it's still a no go with installing a new version.
*Edit to add: I fixed it with the Windows fix it script (for install/uninstall issues):
