Changing Email for individual accoun

My company was acquired and I now need to update the email address on my individual account, I have tried to do it to no avail. Xan you please advise how I update and email address for an individual account? so i have access to previously shared content at my old email address?

Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
To update your primary email address please start by adding your new email as your secondary email in Box.
To add an email address:
- Click Add More Emails.
- Enter a valid email address.
- Click Save.
An email verification will be sent to the address you entered. Click the verification link in the email to confirm and add the alternate email to you account.
To make a secondary email address your primary email address:
- Click Make Primary next to the email address you want as your primary email address.
