Unable to link to new personal email

I tried to add a new personal email, while waiting for the confirmation email to arrive, I realized there was a typo in my entered email, so I removed it and tried to add a correct email address. But now I keep getting "there's an error..." message, no matter which email I use. Browsing through the forum it looks like some other users have experienced the same issue but with different scenarios that don't really apply to me. Could someone assist? Thanks!

To link your personal email to your account. Did you follow the same steps as this?
To add an email address:
- Login to box.com and navigate to Account Settings.
- Scroll down to Login and Email Addresses.
- Click Add More Emails.
- Enter a valid email address.
- Click Save.
An email verification will be sent to the address you entered. Click the verification link in the email to confirm and add the alternate email to you account.
To make a secondary email address your primary email address:
- Click Make Primary next to the email address you want as your primary email address.
