    Hi Benjamin,

Welcome to the Box Community and thanks for your post in the forum!

We do not recommend creating aliases as this is currently not supported.

If this is something you would like to be able to do, I would highly recommend submitting this feature request at pulse.box.com! Our product managers review these requests and take them into consideration for future product development.

    Thanks for your patience!

Thank you very much for the response, France.  I will post the request in Pulse.

I am very sorry to hear that this feature is not present in Box Drive, and very much regret switching from Box Sync.  I believe it is an essential feature, and would have preferred to remain with Box Sync if at all possible.

please provide the link to vote for the BOX Bookmark to MacOS alias implementation in BOX drive.

1/ Creating an alias in Box Drive for MacOS does not work.

2/ Creating a bookmark in BOX should create an alias in Box drive for MacOS and vice-versa

Losing the ability to create aliases in MacOS for files and directories on the Box drive is a big problem.  I'm going to have to find an alternative...

    Below is my "Alias" work-around.

    • Copy the folder or file box URL.
    • Create a hyperlink in Mac TextEdit and save the .rft to a relevant place.
    • Open the .rtf and then the link.

It's extra work, but until box adds the feature back. this might be it.

I don't really understand why Box would disable, or not enable, this feature. Turns out, you can do it really simply.

    1) Create an alias of literally any folder or file on your desktop.
    2) Command+i click on that file.
    3) Click "Select New Original..."
    4) Select the file or folder you'd like the alias to direct to, and hit enter.
    5) Change the file to whatever you'd like.

Again, it baffles me that this works - seemed too simple, but I've done it thrice now, all successes. The pathways can't be established by making aliases of the files themselves, but by redirecting and renaming any ol' alias file, the same pathways can. Curious...
