I have a series of questions posted by one of my customers and I haven't been able to locate the appropriate answers and was wondering if someone here can help me out.

 

How do we find the controls for the automated file reports or Box updates?

 
 
Items were deleted from 'Iblahblahblah'

    somefile.jpg

    anotherfile.jpg

 

Does activating the file preview inside the box browser actually count as a preview or do you have to remain in preview mode a specific time before the counter activates?

 

Does this behavior remain the same across all platforms or is it different between phones, tablets, and computers?

    Welcome to the Box Community!
     
    Let me try to help and answer your questions with the best that I can:
    • How do we find the controls for the automated file reports or Box updates?
          -  At present, reports in Box cannot be automated and would have to be run/ generated from by an Admin or co-admins (that has the permission to run reports) of your Box account. Please take a look at this article for more details:  Running Reports
    • Does activating the file preview inside the box browser actually count as a preview or do you have to remain in preview mode a specific time before the counter activates?
          -  The moment a user click the file in Box webapp, it will open a new tab for the preview page which will then count as "preview" in Box report.

    • Does this behavior remain the same across all platforms or is it different between phones, tablets, and computers?

          -  This appears to be the behavior when a user preview files on Box mobile apps and web browser, however for Box Desktop app such as Box Drive, it may be a different experience as previews of Box files are not visible in the Windows Explorer Preview Pane unless the file is cached or marked for offline.
