A mess with upgrade from free account to Business Starter Plan
In our small NGO we have used free personal box.com accounts. We have given access to the files and folders by inviting users to access them.
Some time ago we decided to upgrade to Business Starter Plan. To start with - me (as an administrator) invited my boss as a first managed user to the same plan. This created a mess that I have been trying to solve since that (with no success).
The maximum number of users in Starter plan is 10. By inviting my boss, I also brought all the around 70 invited users she had in her already existing account. And now I am stuck...
Now, trying to cancel that action of inviting her (my boss) as a user would mean that if she was removed, she would lose access to all her existing files, folders and users.... That would not be very kind of me...
Now is there any way to start from the beginning and not joining anybody in with an free account, but start building the new Business Sterter Plan for us with new accounts (=other than existing e-mail addresses).
It seems that this approach would make the whole process much smoother. But it would have been very good, if Box.com would have given a prior understanding about the potential problems involved.
Yours,
Kari

Hi Kari,
Welcome to Box Community and thanks for posting!
Since Box Starter account does not have unlimited collaboration feature your external users/collaborators will be counted against your seats. We would like to recommend in removing these collaborators and Create Shared Links instead, this way you'll get to keep your managed user and eliminate extra charges for the external users/collaborators.
Thanks for your participation in the Community!
