Box notes visible in Box Drive
Some of our users are using Box Drive far more than Box.com. They have found that they see some Box Notes while in Box Drive, but not others. Do you know what might affect the visibility. I did a quick test and found that box notes I created in Box.com show up in Box Drive. But Box Notes I created in Box Drive, do not show up in Box Drive. It seems very non-intuitive, but so it is. Any insights?

Hi Ilene,
Welcome to the Box Community!
Box Notes are synced to your computer, just as with other documents, and they display in your Box Drive, however they can only be opened in your browser and you cannot access them while offline. In addition, you can only create Box notes in Box webapp (Box.com) or if you have installed the Box Notes desktop application on your computer. In terms of collaborating in a Box Notes, collaborators and permission settings are determined at the folder level. That means your Box Note is automatically available to anyone who can view the folder. It's also editable by anyone with editor access to the folder.
I can only think of 2 reasons as to why other may not be seeing other's Box notes:
- They may not be a collaborator on the folder where these Box notes are. Or,
- If files aren't showing up in the Box Drive folder but are in Box webapp (Box.com), it could be a caching issue, and logging out and logging back in on Box Drive app can actually fix it.
