As a co-owner, I can not access a Box folder after the creator of the folder recently left IBM.
I thought I could still access to the folder even after the creator of the folder left IBM since I have been granted co-owner of the folder.
But it does not look like that.
Is there any way I can access the folder again?

Hi Seong,
Welcome to the Box Community!
You'd want to reach out to the Admin of the departed user to request access to the content you previous had access to.
You'll need to check if the content of the departed user was deleted with the user's account or if the content was transferred to someone else and then request access to that folder again.
Thanks for your participation in the Community and let us know how else we can help!

As far as I know, the folder was with the departed user's account and was not something that transferred to some else and then request access to that folder again.
For your information, the name of the folder was "2018 Korea LBS Server meeting & cadence"
2018 Korea LBS Server meeting & cadence | Powered By Box
thank you.

One more question for you. how can I check if the content of the departed user was deleted with the user's account? The departed user did not take any action to delete the contents before she left IBM. That's why I assume the contents should still remain.
or, do the all contents of a departed user be deleted automatically if he or she leaves IBM ?

Hi Seong,
You will need to contact your Box Administrator to confirm your organization's policy and what actions are taken for departed members of your organization and how they handle the contents owned by those accounts.
In most cases that I've seen, when a managed user is departing an organization, and that user has collaborative contents, to maintain access to that user's contents that are important to the organization, Admins would then perform "Delete and Transfer".
- Files owned by the user are inaccessible while they are being transferred. This also means that during the move, any shared content owned by the user is inaccessible to all collaborators.
Best,
