Bookmarks and external collaborators
I have a question about the implications of bookmarks on external collaborator access.
Here is a scenario: We invite an external collaborator into a folder that includes a Bookmark. The bookmark links to a file in a folder where the collaborator was not invited.
If they open the linked file from the bookmark, I assume they won’t have access to anything else in the linked folder. Is that correct? Can they even see/access the bookmark from the folder they were invited to?

Hi Ilene,
Welcome to the Box Community!
The scenario that you mentioned here should be correct when the bookmark is linked to a file or folder URL and not a Shared link.
When you use a Shared link in a bookmark, I want to set your expectations that if the Shared link access is set to "People with the link", the Bookmark will then be accessible to anyone.
Thanks for our post and let us know how else we can help!

Hi France, Thank you for your response. I just want to be sure I understand. If the bookmarked link is set to "People with the link," the external collaborator will be able to open the link, but nothing else in the folder where the link lives (assuming they were not invited to that folder). If the bookmarked link is NOT set to "people with the link," the external collaborator won't be able to open the link at all. Is that correct?
