Multiple Versions of Excel Files
How to combine multiple versions of an excel file? Using a shared server or sharepoint before, we had the same problem, file was opened by multiple users at the same time, but the app saved then multiple copies, we need to work from one master file, is there any way to easily combine these versions into a master file?

Hi Scott,
Welcome to the Box Community!
If you would like to combine multiple versions of a file, you can use the following method:
- use the Upload New Version button on the Web app
- upload a file into a folder that has an existing file with the exact same name in it on the Box Web app.
The ability for multiple users to edit Office documents simultaneously in desktop version of the Office applications is currently not supported so if collaborators are editing the same file at the same time, Box Edit would then detect it as a conflict and save the file as a copy (appended with the user's email address or with another number)
To avoid this conflict, we suggest using Office Online which supports simultaneous editing or real-time co-authoring.
More information on Box for Office Online can be found in this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196433-Box-for-Office-Integrations#bfo_officeonline
