    Welcome to the Box Community!

    If a collaborative folder that you do not own is missing from your Box account, it is most likely that the owner of the collaborative folder has removed you as a collaborator on the collaborative folder. You will have to contact the folder owner of the collaborative folder to have them re-invite you to that folder again.

    Thanks, however the owner have left the company. May I know what is the process to get all his own folder to be transfer to me? At the moment I have moved to Kyndryl from IBM.

    Hi Team,

    Need help: One of the folder is missing, where the owner has resigned and owner name / mail id is invalid now. how to recover back that particular folder. FYI: I was the co owner of the folder.

    Hi Everyone, 

    I have previously answered a somewhat similar use case in another post regarding this subject.

    It really depends on what your organization's processes and policy is for departing employees.

    If they opt to keep the contents of the user, they may transfer that user's contents to someone else to keep everyone's access.

    I suggest reaching out to your Box admin to check the status of the account of the owner of the folder. Usually the initial step they take if an employee left the company, the organization would set the account to "inactive"- when an account is set on this status, the user will not be able to login and his/her contents will be inaccessible thus collaborators are no longer able to access shared contents. Its best to let your Box admin know that the user have contents you need access to so they can take action.
