Box Drive 'Folder' Icon No Longer Showing Up On Desktop
Intel Macintosh running 11.6, Box Drive 2.24.193. Everything else works as normal. Box does show up under the Locations sidebar, but not under the Favorites. Ive un-installed (via Terminal) and re-installed w/o success.

Hi there,
Welcome to the Box Community!
If you are not seeing Box Drive in Finder sidebar, could you try to disable/re-enable Box Drive's Finder extension to resolve this?
To do this, go to System Preferences > Extensions > Finder, then clear and check Box Finder Extension. Or, you can refresh by force-quitting Finder and then re-starting it.
Let me know how it goes and if you have questions!
Best,

Hello, again!
I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists!
This would be something our Box Support team would like to investigate with you and may require specific account information.I've gone ahead and created a ticket for you so that an agent can work directly with you on looking into this. Please check your email for details. Thanks for your patience! -
This is normal behavior, if you are running macOS 11.5 and higher and Box v2.24.193. Basically the new version of Box interacts with the Finder completely different. It uses something called File Provider Extension (FPE) mode. The major changes you will see is: 1) Desktop icon no longer there. 2) Favorites sidebar shortcut no longer there. 3) Box folder is no longer located within the root user folder. It has been moved to ~/Library/CloudSystems.
You can create new 'shortcuts' yourself on the Desktop and the Favorites sidebar from the new Box location (see above).
Not sure why support here didn't know this. Anyhow see the release notes and the notes about FPE mode below.
