document content now empty after HSI applied and removed

Hi. I applied the HSI encryption to a folder by mistake.  When I removed it, all the content in the documents had disappeared but the documents themselves were still there. It looks like the documents were just added as v. 1 today. There were two Powerpoint files, a Word file and 2 mp4 files

It only happened in one folder that I know of. I had applied HSI to multiple folders. 

Is there a way to recover the documents and their content?
