    Are you still logged in on the Box app and it is running on the older device? Are you using Box Sync or Box Drive? 

    May I know what version of OS and Box app that computer is running? Since you mentioned that device is pretty old, you might be running an unsupported operating system, or an older version of Box app, and if that is the case, I would recommend updating the OS and Box application to get started. You can check this article here to learn on Supported OS version.

    You might also want to check for any Problem items on the system tray (windows) or menu bar (mac users) that coould be causing the sync issue and resolve those to get your files updated on the older device.
