    Hi Nick,

Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

At present, the ability for customers to disable Box Drive auto-update is not available.

If this is something you would like to be able to do, I would highly recommend submitting this feature request at pulse.box.com! Our product managers review these requests and take them into consideration for future product development.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and if you have any questions, let us know and we'd be happy to help!

    Regards,

Then please fix 2.27. It doesn't work with the M1 chip in macintoshes and has caused us to lose a considerable amount of data. The only way we've been able to fix this is to not allow any auto updating on computers across our entire office. This is a major syncing flaw with box. The downloadable version of Box Drive 2.26.348 does not have the syncing issue. I spent two days trouble shooting with Apple and using box help communities. The issue is in the update that Box is issuing with the 2.27 designation.

Seriously, this is a major problem for our company. It is halting and damaging a significant (6 to 7 figures worth of work) and the above comment isn't an adequate response to this problem. As it stands, we are having to fully uninstall the 2.27.240 version of box drive and reinstall the 2.26.340 version that is downloadable from the website. I do have a question...how do we fix this problem...and help (beyond the above comment) would be prudent.

I am experiencing this exact issue as well. Sometimes after a reboot and some time to think, the problem resolves itself, another time I had to reinstall 2.26.348 (the version on the Box web site). I am on Monterey but am still on an Intel Macbook Pro.

My recommendation (what worked for us) is to keep 2.26.348 on your desktop and revert back to it every time you restart your computer because Box will automatically update. You'll need the instructions to fully uninstall box or installing the old version won't work. Box's official fix for this is for users to use the online (web) interface (i.e. to save everything locally and then upload it through the website). This negates the entire purpose of box drive. It is not a viable solution for us. We are looking for a new cloud service with actual support.
