How can I change the directory of my box sync on my macbook...
Hi Community!
I started using a new macbook pro today. When going for BoxSync, I installed Box drive by accident, then found out it is not too my liking, and I wanted my original Box Sync ( with which you can see the download happening and have peace of mind knowing you have the actual files in your box sync folder AND are able to see them).
Some conflict between the drive and sync happened, and I could not create the box sync folder on it's original place, and just clicked the Downloads folder to have it go through... Now the box sync folder is stuck in my downloads folder, and moving does not work nor re-installing. Even with completely removing every trace of box sync, and re-installing, it puts it back in downloads folder. Is there anyone who knows the solution?

Hi Kay,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
Can you uninstall Box Sync from you computer and make sure to follow this article: Uninstalling Box Sync Manually
After uninstalling Box Sync, please make sure that you do not have any other Box Sync folders on your device, or you can rename it to something like "Old Box Sync" if you want to retain your old Box Sync folder before you reinstall Sync following this article: Installing Box Sync
Then, when you first log into Box Sync (the first time after installing Box Sync or when you log in as a different user) you will have the option to customize the location of the "Box Sync" folder where Box Sync will store your synced content (please see the image below). You can find the complete steps on this article on how you can modify the location of your Box Sync folder.
Hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know and we will help you.
Regards,
