    Hi Quinn,

Welcome to the Box Community! I'm happy to help.

As a first troubleshooting step, we'd like to make sure that you have the supported Windows Operating Systems.

    https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043695854-Windows-Specific-Known-Issues-for-Box-Drive

We'd like to ask/confirm if a full Manual Reset of the Box Drive app on your machine.

    Manually Resetting Box Drive

In rare instances Box Drive fails to launch. When this happens follow these steps:

To reset Box Drive on Windows

    1. Exit Box Drive (if it is running). If necessary, use Task Manager to end the Box.exe process.
    2. Ascertain whether any files exist in C:\users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Box\Box\unsyncedFiles. These are files that have not been uploaded to Box. If these files do exist, and if you want to keep them, copy them to any location outside of C:\users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Box\Box\ (such as your desktop). Proceeding with the steps below deletes these files.
      • You may need to show hidden folders to see \AppData.
    3. Delete this folder: C:\users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Box\Box.
    4. From RegEdit, delete the registry entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Box/Box to clear Box preferences.
    5. Launch the Box Drive application, and follow the prompt to log back in.

Here's the article with the steps on how to uninstall Box drive https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196293-Uninstalling-Box-Drive

Please go to this website to reinstall Box drive https://www.box.com/en-gb/resources/downloads

    Hope this helps.

    Best,

I'm fairly certain anyone running Box Drive in the Windows 11 environment from a Mac using Parallels (and likely other virtual machines) will run into this issue; it's what was causing it for me. What resolved it for me was simply installing the Mac version of Box Drive on my Mac hard drive.
The folder still is accessible in my Windows environment (\\Mac\Home\Library\CloudStorage\Box-Box\...), and Box Drive still syncs very quickly, as it does in a PC Windows environment. You unfortunately do not get the handy right-click options like copying a file link to the clipboard or view version history, so you'd need to go to Box website for that functionality, but the files are accessible, updateable, and do sync just fine.

You are right. I am in a Parallels setup. I like to keep the Mac and Windows machines separate but I see the value in your answer. I'll give it a try.
