Hyperlinks are diverted to "get adobe acrobat"

I am writing a report and using numerous hyperlinks to files in my Box account. When I check the hyperlinks, I don't get file I get a sales pitch for Adobe Acrobat...I don't want those reading my report. How do you get rid of this?
