Shared Files not accessible to people outside company
Hi,
I recently noticed that shared links seem only to be accessible if you have a Box account or have been invited to collaborate on a folder. I used to be able to share files with outside company sources by clicking "Accessible for persons with this link" - now I can ponly choose between "People within my company" and "People who were invited".
How can I continue to share files easily without forcing people setting up an account?
Best,
Michael

Hi Folks,
Welcome to the Box Community!
The Shared links you create for contents that you own can be managed under your Account Settings > Sharing tab.
To make sure that you can set your links with public access, please make sure that the option "Shared Links Can Be Viewed By" is set to People with the link, people in your company and people in this folder.
For more details, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196513-Manage-Account-Settings#sharedlinks
Hope that helps!

Hi Heidi,
Thanks for following up on this.
If you are unable to change the shared link access of a file, you might want to take a look at the Folder Settings to see if there are restrictions set in there.
If you right-click the folder where this file is located and go to "Settings", please check if the option below is enabled and try and see if you can disable it, if not you may need to contact the owner of the folder to discuss about disabling this restriction:
- Only collaborators can access this folder via shared links - If this box is checked, only people who are already collaborators in the folder can access it via shared links.
More information about Folder Settings can be found in this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043696014-Understanding-Box-Folder-Settings#sharedlinkaccess
