Box annotations accelerates the review and decision-making process by unifying feedback across desktop, Web, and mobile Box apps. Using only your Android device, you can:
- Securely view annotations across files, documents, and images without having to open the application in which the content was created.
- Receive immediate notification of new annotations or feedback when someone mentions you in an annotation comment.
- View comments in your Box Notification Center.
- View annotations that were drawn in freehand and created on iPads and iPhones.
Here’s how to work with Box Annotations on your Android device:
When someone uses the Box Web app to annotate a document, Box records details in the File Activity pane, including the commenter’s name, the time of the comment, and the page number of the annotated section. When they’re done they can share the annotated document with you via a shared link, or directly notify you by using the @ command and your user name within a comment. You receive an email with a link to the document, plus an alert on your home screen.
Tap the alert (or the emailed link), and Box opens the file preview to the annotated area, regardless of where in the document it may be.
You can view all existing comments in the File Activity pane.
Tap Page # in a comment, and Box immediately displays the page with the corresponding annotation.
You can also view an annotated document on your Android device by navigating directly to the file you want and then opening it in Box Preview.
Note
Update to the latest version of the Box app if you receive an alert indicating some comments are not visible.
