Box is pleased to announce job-triggered schedules in Box Shuttle. With the Box Shuttle job-triggered schedules feature a Box Shuttle job can be scheduled to run when another job completes. For example, large file server migrations are often broken up into many jobs and a file server may not have the resources to run multiple migration jobs at the same time. Scheduling the jobs to trigger one after the other can maximize the server’s resources.
Jobs can be scheduled to run as simulations or transfers, just as with time and date schedules. They can also be triggered to run any time the triggering job completes or only if the triggering job completes successfully. If a triggered job fails to start, Box Shuttle will send an email notification.
Job triggered schedules provide new options for Box Shuttle users:
- Automate a weekend file server migration by scheduling a job to run Friday night and then scheduling each additional job to start when the prior completes.
- Schedule large sync jobs to continuously trigger off of their own completion, allowing them to run repeatedly until cutover.
