We have some exciting news to share. On Box for iOS and Box for Android, HTML files will open as the page they are meant to look like.
Before, an .html file on mobile opened as source code. With this update, it opens as a rendered preview. You can still edit the code. On iOS, tap Edit on the bottom toolbar.
A few things to expect:
- Scripts in the file do not run, so interactive pages look static.
- Images and fonts render only when they are embedded in the file. Files stored next to the HTML file, in the same folder, are not loaded.
- Links to Box open in the app. Other links are not opened.
- Files larger than 150 KB can be previewed, but not edited.
No admin setup is required. Update to the latest Box app. General availability is by end of October.
