Box for Microsoft Office co-authoring on Monthly Enterprise Channel for O365 Updates is here! Collaborate in real-time on the Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel desktop applications — with all changes saved to Box. Users can coauthor files stored in Box on Office desktop apps or Office Online when opening the file directly from Box Drive or Box web.
Now, customers in both Microsoft’s Current and Monthly Enterprise Channel for Office 365 updates can request to be enabled for the coauthoring feature.

Technical specifications for phased GA are as follows:

Production environment in Microsoft's Current or Monthly Enterprise Channel for Office 365 updates (latest release)

Office 365 apps only. Perpetual licenses (e.g., Office 2019) not supported.

If using Box Drive (not required), v2.26 or above.

If using Mac devices and Box Drive, macOS 11.5 or above (Box’s general support policy for operating systems and browsers apply for this feature)
