Can unmanaged Box users be allowed to authenticate with SSO?
AnsweredReading https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043692794-Best-Practice-Managing-External-Users, it appears that unmanaged Box users are not subject to SSO requirements as managed Box users are. By "unmanaged", I mean "external users" or "unlicensed users", who cannot be expected to have email addresses with a common mail domain. However, my question is whether unmanaged users can authenticate to our organization's Box folder, using our organization's IdP (Identity Provider)?

Hi Eric,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
Note: Your organization may also have unmanaged users. These are people who are part of your organization but are using unlicensed Box accounts, possibly because they signed up for an account on their own, or already had one, outside of your organization. Unmanaged users may or may not also be external users, but they also represent a potential security risk, as they are not subject to your organization's Box security and compliance policies. Run a User Details report to identify your unmanaged users, and see how to convert them to managed users.
Hope it answers your question,
