    Hi there,

    Welcome to Box Community!

I've opened a new case regarding your inquiry and a member from Product Support will get in touch shortly.

    Thanks for posting!

We are also having the same issue. Have confirmed the zoom only works when accessing the file locally. Anything accessed within Box Drive has the zoom in/out options disabled for Microsoft Photos. We do not want to have to download some other image viewing software.

    HI Team,

I have some questions to ask:

    1. Is there a known issue with the zoom functionality in Microsoft Photos when accessing images through Box Drive?"

    2. Are there any upcoming updates or patches planned to address the compatibility issue between Microsoft Photos and Box Drive?"

    3. Are there any recommended workarounds or settings adjustments that can enable zoom functionality in Microsoft Photos when using Box Drive?"

    4. Is there a list of fully compatible image viewing software with Box Drive that retains all functionalities, including zoom?"

Please let me know if you have the answers.

I haven't seen any workarounds or notice from Box.  Suggestions on websites are Reset Photos App, Repair Photos App, Check for updates, Reinstall Photo app, or downloading photos locally and accessing them (of course that defeats the purpose of Box Drive).

Apparently it's been a known issue for a while now but there's no solution. The only solution they were able to offer was to post feedback on the pulse website and hope it gets addressed in an update.

Same issue. Very annoying that it was flagged over 4 months ago and Box have done nothing to address the known problem.

Same issue here. Win10 user cannot zoom in/out if opening images in BOX drive.

If opening locally, there is no issue with any format images.

This issue is for many image formats, including jpg, jpeg, etc.

I've noticed that some folders are OK, others are not. Very strange.

As I told before, I had to install another software but I don't like it... this is a complete mess. Can't explain why they don't solve this. It's very very annoying...

Is it that difficult to solve????

Box keeps on avoiding the issue... very disappointed

Suggest we don't get hung up on this, when Box Web successfully opens images from Box web folder and ZOOMS in and out.

Since Box has documented limitations in Windows File Explorer (which is Microsoft's responsibility, not Box, even though Box provides Box Drive), and there are plenty of other more pressing developments/fixes, it's unlikely to be resolved any time soon.

Alternatively, whilst still using Box Drive, change your default application on your laptop to a different photo editing app that is available on computer - eg Paint, Paint 3D, Snip & Sketch - zoom feature will then be available

Another annoying work around: just create a temporary photo folder on your desktop and drop the photos in there to review/zoom

This is completely ridiculous.... Why not buy another computer without BOX and see pics there???????

Is it so difficult to fix this?
