In the coming weeks, Box will expand its network infrastructure to bring Box closer to you globally. This addition of many more Box points of presence (PoPs) around the world will improve the user experience on the Box and 3rd party applications as well as increase uploads and downloads performance.
While this change should be fully transparent to our customers we recommend admins, especially if your organization enforces strict firewall rules, to:
- Visit https://www.box-test.com from your corporate network/VPN and make sure that the ‘vPoP’ test works
- If you leverage Box APIs, you can test connectivity from your production environment by using api-test.box.com instead of api.box.com on any API call or by testing the reachability (ping or curl) to dl2.boxcloud.com if you filter the api-test.box.com domain.
Note: api-test.box.com is designed to be used for connectivity tests only
