Known Issues
Important
As of now, you can only invite users who have a Box account (any plan) to collaborate on a Hub.
User and enterprise migrations
Migrations have a negative impact on all Hubs created in the enterprise:
- When a user migrates their content, the files and/or folders in a Hub become unavailable.
- Enterprise migrations make all Hubs unavailable.
Limitations
- As of now, the following shared links settings and options are not available:
- Custom message.
- Link expiration.
- Allow download.
- Shield's Information Barriers are not supported in Hubs.
- Version history is not available.
- As of now, Box Hubs does not work on mobile.
- There is no current file or folder limit for a Hub. However, Box Hubs is meant to have curated content, not to serve as a location for root folders.
- Hubs does not support an editable shared link to a Hub.
- Instant Login (admin only feature) doesn’t work with externally collaborated hubs. An admin can’t use instant login for a user in their enterprise and view content owned in another enterprise's hub.
- As of now, you can only add external collaborators using their main email address. Using an email alias results in an error We were unable to add [xyz] as a collaborator.
- Hub collaborations are not shown in the External Users tab in the Users & Groups section of Admin Console.
Box Hubs Limits
Restrictions for Box Hubs:
- Number of Hubs for each tenant - no limits.
- Number of Hubs for each Hub owner - no limits.
- Number of collaborators for each Hub - existing Box limits apply for number of collaborations for each item.
- Number of collaborations for each Hub - limited to 500. Group collaboration counts as 1, the group members are not counted.
- Number of members for each group that can be added to or deleted from Hubs’ collaborators list - existing Box limits apply.
- Number of paragraph sections in a Hub - no limit. <90 sections in a single Hub allows for an optimal viewing performance.
- Number of files for Box AI for Hubs in a Hub - 10,000.
- When the limit is reached, Box AI for Hubs responds with the following error message: You have exceeded the limit of 10,000 items for this Hub. Box AI is now disabled. To reenable Box AI, remove enough items to get below this limit.
- Number of files for Box AI for Hubs across all the Hubs in an enterprise - 1,000,000.
