As our customer base and usage continues to grow, we are further investing in our data center infrastructure to continue helping customers accelerate their digital transformation. Starting mid-October, we are expanding our existing data centers in Nevada, U.S.A. and reducing our presence in our Bay Area data centers in California, U.S.A. This will be a rolling process which we expect to complete by Dec. 31, 2019. Note that Box Zones customers whose content is stored outside the U.S.A. are not affected by this change.
This change strengthens our disaster recovery (DR) posture as our existing facilities in Nevada have reduced risk of impact from natural disasters. Further, none of our compliance certifications, validations, and reports are impacted by this change.
As always, the customer experience is paramount to us and we are striving for this process to be transparent to you. With an extensive validation and testing process in place, we do not anticipate any meaningful impact to performance or access to your content, services and applications. If any issues are encountered, we will keep you informed through our Status Site - status.box.com.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Box Product Support.
Thanks,
The Box Team
