We’re excited to introduce an option of persistent cookies that will significantly improve the Box web app experience of users by reducing the requirement for them to repeatedly sign in. With persistent cookies enabled, users can now close and reopen their browsers without being logged out of Box, allowing seamless continuation of work without interruption. This enhancement removes a point of friction and helps users stay productive when engaging with content.
This feature is configurable for enterprise admins of Business plan and above. Existing Business plan and above customers will have this setting disabled by default. They can choose to enable it through the Admin Console under Enterprise Settings > User Settings. Once enabled, when a user reopens their browser, and their session is still active, they won’t be asked to log in again. Persistent cookies last until the user or their browser deletes them.
