As part of our continued investment in providing a more secure platform for collaboration, Box launching our new custom watermarking feature, giving organizations and users more control over the watermarks applied to their sensitive content. This new capability delivers new flexibility and granularity to how content sensitivity is communicated, reducing the risk of accidental data leakage or mishandling of sensitive data.
Communication is an essential piece of content security, especially when it comes to communicating the sensitivity of certain pieces of content. One of the most effective ways to communicate sensitivity has historically been applying watermarks, letting users know that this document is to be handled with care. With the new customization options, folder and file owners will be able to define the parameters of applied watermarks, including:
- Graphical options, such as color/orientation/size
- Standardized content, such as user email or IP address
- Custom text, allowing for more granular watermarks
