On iOS and Android, the Box app enables you to record and upload audio to Box when you're on the go.
Recording audio in the Box app enables you to:
- Record audio and upload directly to Box.
- Pause a recording and then later resume your recording.
- Review your recording prior to upload.
- Record audio even when the Box app is in the background and you're multi-tasking on other apps.
Permission to record
To use audio recording, you'll need to grant Box permission to use your device's microphone.
To grant Box permission to use your device's microphone:
- In the Box Browse tab, tap the + button.
- On iOS, tap Record Audio. On Android, tap Capture Media then tap Record Audio. Box opens audio mode.
- Tap Enable Microphone and grant permission.
Recording and saving to Box
When you want to record, Box enables you to start an audio recording from a Box folder. When you save your recoding, Box uploads the recording to this same folder.
To record audio using your device's microphone:
- Open the Box folder in which you want to save the recording.
- In the Box Browse tab, tap the + button.
- On iOS, tap Record Audio. On Android, tap Capture Media then tap Record Audio. Box opens audio mode.
- To begin recording, tap Record.
- To pause recording, tap Pause, and when you're ready to continue recording where you left off, again tap Record.
- To stop recording, tap Pause, and then tap Done.
- After a recording is done, you can review, delete, or save the recording on the Review screen:
- To review the recording, tap the play button.
- To delete the recording, tap Delete.
- To save and upload the recoding, tap Save Recording.
- After uploading your recording, Box displays the file in the folder from which you started the recording.
