Apple M1 chip/Big Sur problem
So I am aware that Box doesn't support the new M1 chip and Big Sur. They say that a beta version will be available for enterprise customers. My question is, when will this issue be resolved for all other Mac users? The peons. The non-Enterprise, non-bougie people? The lowly researchers who don't have the Enterprise Box. When are we going to know any information? Why is there nothing being told to us about what is happening? Why is this issue so hard to solve? How long will we all be without Box? If it is a long time, perhaps there is another option by switching to your competitors. I wish my university didn't rely on Box. This is a real pain in the butt.

I also have hundreds of users of new M1 MacBooks who want their Box accounts locally synched. The article you link to is two months old. My dev team would have been able to write a solution in that time. My patience is wearing this and i'm likely to take my corporate account to Dropbox if you can't fix this. Thx Charles Gibbons CTO HDRUK

Honestly, Box support has gotten worse over the years. What does it take to provide an update to at least say that you continue to work on it? This is beyond ridiculous. I really hope we do decide to move to OneDrive which we pay for anyway. I'm not sure why we continue to use your product when you don't offer anything better and the support has suffered considerably.

A better timeline on completion of the M1 version would be appreciated. I purchased a Mac with Apple silicon and Box is the ONLY thing not working. This will cost me hundreds of dollars because I need to keep my old Mac (not trade it in) to be compatible with a university's Box Drive.

Craig I am literally in the same exact boat. I am in this terrible limbo and the worst thing about it is that Box doesn’t even seem to care. It’s trash. Box might as well have a homeless person living in it. That’s how trash it is. If Box is now going to be solely windows based, they need to make that clear to their customers.
