    Thanks for raising this question in our Community Forums. We have also followed-up with you through the case you opened with the Box Platform Support Team. As advised, we have reproduced this error in situations when an application already exists with the same name. I know we used to display a less generic message when this situation occurs advising of the duplicate name and I am following up with our Engineers on whether this was an intended change in behavior. In the interim, can you try creating a new application with a unique name and see if that works?

    Please keep in mind, the lookup for application names is across our entire ecosystem of developer applications (both private and public).

     I agree! We are providing that feedback to our Engineering Teams and hope to see this behavior changed soon to display a more meaningful error.

    I received the same error when I was trying to create an application as well. I don't believe I got the error because of a similarly named application - I tried out different names and still got the same error. I also checked and it doesn't look like we've create any other applications. Any other suggestions?
