Add a new user to a group automatically upon signup

Is there a way to add a user to a specific group as a member of that group upon first signing up on box? 

As a university we use box enterprise.  I was told awhile ago there is an API that may do this??

  Hi :

   

  Is your university signed up for Box via the Internet2/Net+Box program?  If so, it might also be helpful to ask this question over on the community for I2/Net+Box admins at http://forum.internet2.edu/community/index.php?p=/categories/box-community  (Note that that forum is only open to participants in the I2/Net+Box program.)

   

  I know that there are several universities that are synchronizing groups from their central group managmenet systems into Box, so I bet there's some expertise there that you could tap into.
