Getting Started box development

I need help tackling my current project. I have followed a few of the tutorials online and I just don't really understand it. I am a highly visual learner and I cannot see what the code is actually doing and I am quite lost. 

Project:

Connect site to box to allow end users to view some of the things we have on box. We need to be able to have them get a code to see the stuff, control the stuff they see, and so on. I do have a dev account and I even created the application online. That's where I get stuck. I have my website, and I have the 'app' on box but I cannot figure out how to connect the two. I have never developed anything like this before.
