Is there a way to save sort preferences?

Platform: Windows 10 Enterprise v. 20H2

Browser: Chrome v. 94.0.4606.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Does anyone know if there a a way to save my "Files and Folders" sorting preference? I want to retain sort by "Name, ascending" as the default, but cannot find anywhere to save it, so every time I navigate away from a folder and return to it, I have to re-sort by name again. The default seems to be "Updated, descending."

    ok , a bit random , but if you navigate to "All Files" or where you start when you initially login , and set the sort order there , it will "sticks" when you navigate to other pages.

     

    I've no idea why but it seems to work

    I don't understand.  We've been using the same Box account for over 5 years and the folders always sorted by "Name, ascending" as the default.  All of a sudden it isn't doing it.

    Yes!! Same for me. It's always sorted the same way I last sorted, but it doesn't stick any more!

    Yes, thanks Barry! Agreed that 1) Box ought to know (ie read their own user forums) and 2) seems to be different from before. Barry's suggestion was very helpful.

    Barry saved us all! This was driving me nuts and there is no way to reach Box. I've never found an answer in a forum before. I can't believe this worked--thank you!

    I went ahead and upvoted the Box Pulse idea and shared Barry's idea on that forum as well. Box should prioritize this feature. Low effort, high impact.

    It suddenly makes Teams seem needed.  This should be the default.  Not sure why Box has is sorted by order created...doesn't make any sense

    It works fine and great  in my view when I'm logged in to my account, But, when I'm sharing the link with the public, the folders will be in different order

    It's annoying, frustrating and embarrassing to me with others

    The workaround is to add this to the link: (?sortColumn=name&sortDirection=ASC)

    When you define a sorting order in your All Files window, Box applies that sorting order as the default sorting order in all your Box windows.
