Box for Salesforce - "Unable to create Auth Wrapper to set up User Association for current user"

When attempting to access a Box folder through the Box for Salesforce folder, a user may receive the error "Unable to create Auth Wrapper to set up User Association for current user":

 

 


Troubleshooting Steps

 

  1. From your Salesforce page, click on the + icon (seen in the Red box here)
  2. Click on Box Settings
  3. Scroll down to the section that says "Box User Settings"
  4. Click "Disconnect & Reauthorize"
  5. Login to account that is different than the one listed under the "Box Service Account"

 

Root Cause

 

This error is occurring because there is no Box User authenticated under Box User Settings (screenshot attached for reference). When you use this integration, you cannot be logged into the same account as the Box Service Account.
