Box Shield brings intelligent data classification to the Content Cloud, securing content at scale. Shield automatically scans files against personally identifiable information (PII) and custom terms and phrases, classifies them based on admin-defined policies, and enforces classification-based security controls - reducing the risk of data leakage and enabling secure remote work from anywhere, anytime, and any device.
We’re announcing an improvement to conflict handling that will allow you to specify the behavior of classification policies for conflicts when content already has an existing classification label. As a Box Shield admin, you’ll now have the option to honor or overwrite the existing classification of a file, if your classification policies determine a classification different from the existing one. This update enables auto-classification to be the authority of classification for your organization, making sure our organization’s classifications are enforced in the way you require to remain compliant.
