Box is introducing label prioritization in Shield Pro AI Classification policies, making it easier for admins to control how labels are applied when multiple labels match the same file.
Previously, customers needed to include prioritization instructions directly in their label criteria. With this update, admins can now set label priority directly in the policy UI by enabling Specify Label Priority, selecting at least two labels, and ordering them from highest to lowest priority. When multiple labels are applicable, the Security Classification Agent will use that priority order to determine which label takes precedence. These granular, deterministic controls help admins guard against unintended conflicts between classification definitions and reduce the risk of over- or under-classifying content.
