Following up from the initial launch of Box Shield Pro in December 2025, we are happy to announce AI Threat Analysis is coming soon to all Shield Pro customers. AI Threat Analysis enables AI-generated plain language summaries within Box Shield threat alerts, with the goal of surfacing the most critical threat information in an easy-to-understand context, saving time for security operations teams and reducing risk to the organization.
Visibility is crucial when it comes to ensuring your content is secure, but that doesn’t mean an overwhelming flood of information is always good. Without the ability to process and act upon detected threats, security teams are forced to triage or ignore threats of lower severity. This can lead to increased risk of breaches, as threats aren’t addressed in time even when they are caught by the system. The key, and the purpose of AI Threat Analysis, is to streamline how those threats are communicated and enable swift prioritization and action. AI Threat Analysis takes the wealth of data contained in a Box Shield threat alert and distills it down into a paragraph or two of clear, concise text, explaining what the threat appears to be, why it was flagged, and anything else important about it.
AI Threat Analysis can be enabled and disabled for each detection rule individually in that rule’s settings, and is available for:
- Malicious Content
- Suspicious Location
- Suspicious Session
- Anomalous Download
- Ransomware Activity Detection
