Box Shield brings intelligent data classification to the Content Cloud, securing content at scale. Shield automatically scans files against personally identifiable information (PII) and custom terms and phrases, classifies them based on admin-defined policies, and enforces classification-based security controls - reducing the risk of data leakage.
We have released a new event type to the Enterprise Event stream for download and print restrictions, external collaboration, application access. This enables logs when a download/print restriction is triggered by a Box Shield admin-defined Smart Access policy. For example, if an end user is blocked from downloading or printing a file, a SHIELD_DOWNLOAD_BLOCKED event will be generated and be consumable via the Box Event API.
This update gives customers visibility into policy enforcements and facilitates security auditing.
